About us

PRISMTC was founded in 2000 and we now have more than 70 clients across the UK, Europe, USA and Singapore. In profile, our clients range from early phase start-ups through to large, multi-national corporations.

Co-founders Ian Macpherson and Paul Nelson have between them more than 40 years of providing practical solutions as professional statisticians working with blue-chip organisations in discovery, R&D and manufacturing. We currently have 12 professionals and associates in the PRISMTC team.

We provide a full range of statistical and learning solutions. We work with all the leading software tools and can also bring our own portfolio of specialist tools to bear.

Ian Macpherson (M.Sc., C.Stat.), Managing Director.

In addition to his role as MD, Ian coordinates the resourcing of all our client consultancy projects. He is a statistical consultant and trainer with over 20 years experience. His particular territory is in all areas of non-clinical pharmaceutical R&D as well as research in  the agriculture and food industries. Ian was previously the UK manager of the statistical group within SmithKline Beecham supporting non-clinical pharmaceutical research and development.

 

Paul Nelson (Ph.D., C.Stat.), Technical Director.

Paul's our Technical Director and the main statistical architect of our software tools. He also coordinates the delivery of our client training projects. For more than 10 years, he has been providing expert statistical training, consultancy and software tailored to scientists and engineers in the discovery, development and manufacturing areas of the pharmaceutical industry. Paul was formerly Principal Statistician and Project Manager with SmithKline Beecham.

 

Iain Wilson (B.Sc.), Product Director.

Iain's our Product Director, looking after our IP and the development, release and support of our software tools. He also manages the commercial framework of our relationships with our clients and suppliers. A former Operations Director of Financial Objects plc and of CR2 Ltd, Iain has over 20 years experience of project management and the software lifecycle.
